Some pictures taken on my walk this past Sunday to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , along the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (which mostly follows 37th Avenue) Interestingly, I actually live pretty close to Memorial Park SOUTH, whereas this western bretheren is a whopping 10km away. So, I covered 20km as a round trip that day.

The building to the right used to be the headquarters of the BC Workers’ Compensation Board when built, and then later the RCMP took it over as their general admin building to compliment the Pacific Command HQ next door. Hence the wide boulevard in a now completely residential neighbourhood

The neighbourhood still uses these old-school street lights made of concrete, instead of the more modern green metal poles

The overhang is working as intended

Arbutus Greenway, which used to be an inter-urban train track until very recently

BMW F30 with complete M-Performance add-ons. Local dealers did have a few of them completely done-up and in stock, listing them for almost $80k CAD. Normally I’d say that that is insane, but the F80 M3 that is optioned the way I want is just over $100k CAD, so *shrugs*

Back then, Vancouver was a collection of municipalities, and both here in Dunbar and where I live in South Vancouver have a “Memorial Park” to commemorate The Great War dead. After the municipalities merged, then they had to add “West” to this name and “South” to the other.

Is there now a reference source for metro Vancouver regarding the age of buildings? I know tax and sales data is much more secretive there (I wonder why) than south of the border.

I remember those old-style new houses with cat slide roofs were all the rage several years ago, often replacing actual vintage houses.

For the entire Province of BC: BC Assessment

The assessed value is then used to calculate property taxes, but currently that is a touchy subject locally so I stay away from that. The age is more relevant to my documentations.
